Read Across America Day

Simmons had a special day planned for March 2nd. It wasn’t just any ordinary day, it was Read Across America Day! Simmons invited community members in to read to the students and show how much fun reading can be. During the celebration Elisha Gee, Simmons Assistant Principal,  announced their book reveal for the day. “The One and Only Ivan.” By, Katherine Applegate. Katherine herself even had a special message just for Simmons.

Read Across America Day celebrates Dr. Seuss’s birthday and encourages children if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
