May 15th, 2018
HORSHAM, PA
It’s that time of the year again for the 4th and 5th grade Math 24 Tournament. Math 24 is a competition where a card is shown with four numbers. Students need to get the card to equal 24 by doing any combination of the following: addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. Prior to the tournament, all 5 elementary schools held competitions in their own buildings to determine a finalists from their 4th and 5th grades. About 750 students participated in the competition. Once a winner is chosen from each elementary school, the students move on to the Hatboro-Horsham school district Math 24 Tournament held at Keith Valley middle school. The final five students from both 4th and 5th grades competed against each other in front of all their classmates and families.
While fighting for the title, the top two students from each grade competed to be the Hatboro-Horsham school district champion. This years winners are Zach, a 4th grader from Blair Mill and Eveleen, a 5th grader at Simmons.
