May 15th, 2018
Pennypack elementary school held its sixth annual career day on May 8th, 2018. This year instead of bringing in outside guests to talk about their careers Pennypack put a twist on it. They asked parents and family members of students to come in and talk about their careers. Along with what type of schooling you need for that specific career.
The motto of the day was to “dream big”. Students were then asked, “How do you want to change the world?” Each career can change the world a little bit at a time.
In the afternoon first grade students got to build a “community” out of refrigerate boxes. Each student had a job in the community while students walked around to learn about community helpers. First grade students also had to interview professionals in our own community and wrote pieces about them. Which later they had to do a presentation on.
