HHSD Business Networking Event
October 31st, 2018
HORSHAM, PA
Warm coffee, handshakes, and new connections were established at Hatboro-Horsham high school On October 23rd. Local businesses throughout the Hatboro and Horsham community all gathered in the library of the high school.
Dennis Williams, Principal of Hatboro-Horsham High School, was the speaker for the meeting. Williams did more than just talk, he put the business community to work.
Williams handed out a puzzle asking the group to work together and solve it. Once the puzzle completed, Williams threw a new task at them. A new piece was added to the puzzle to show how change can be a difficult task.
After the activity was finished group members evaluated why the first puzzle was easier than the second. This task then leads right into Williams point of how teaching has changed throughout the years. Students are not learning how other students learned 10 years ago. Hatboro-Horsham is keeping up with the learning curve and the business community was impressed with the possibility of their future employees.
Dr. Curtis Griffin also spoke at the event. He updated the community on district news and the construction and design layout of the new Crooked Billet elementary school.
The next business networking event will be held sometime in January. If you would like to attend or have any questions contact Jeannie Hagan at JHagan@Hatboro-Horsham.org
