Hatboro-Horsham Students Build Toys for Toys for Tots
December 10th, 2018
HORSHAM, PA
Hatboro-Horsham high school students didn’t turn into elves overnight. Industrial art students built, with the help of Industrial Arts Teacher, Nick Pompei, toys for a local Toys for Tots organization.
Pompei and his students have been building items that they donate for Toys for Tots over the past 11 years. For the past two years, students along with Pompei have volunteered their time along with the donated items to the Toys for Tots organization.
The toys are made from two of Pompei’s Manufacturing & Engineering classes. This year, ten wooden air hockey games were built along with three pinball machines. A total of 35 students made these toys. The goal is to make toys for older children since most toys donated are geared towards younger children.
Hatboro-Horsham student, Andrew Larsson, described the event as, “an experience he will remember for the rest of his life.”
