When I Grow Up Career Expo 2019
May 13th, 2019
HORSHAM, PA
On Saturday, April 27th, Hatboro-Horsham School District hosted its second annual, “When I Grow Up Career Expo” K-12 career expo at Crooked Billet-Hallowell- Learning Community. The expo encourages all students from kindergarten through twelfth grade to attend while exploring and learning new career paths.
Hatboro-Horsham School Districts Community Engagement Office and the business community collaborated in opening young minds by showcasing real-life work experiences for a free day of career readiness exploration. Over 60 businesses joined the district and worked together to make a real impact on students.
This fun and engaging expo provided important, one-of-a-kind exposure to real-world careers in manufacturing, technology, environmental, architecture, healthcare, animal science, fitness, finance, music, art, food services, education, entrepreneurship, law, construction trade, and many more.
One Senior student, Maddie Throne, who attended the expo last year got an internship by bringing along her resume and stopping by IMET Corporation. This year Maddie was at the expo representing that table.
The goal of the day is to inspire students about future career paths and to show them what the world has to offer.
If as a student, parent, teacher or business you’d like to participate in the 2020 expo contact Jeannie Hagan at JHagan@hatboro-horsham.org or call 215-420-5561.
