On June 6th, Keith Valley Middle School held their National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) induction for their newest members. NJHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
At Keith Valley Middle School more than 80 new students were inducted into the society. NJHS is the first step to learning leadership, college preparation, building teamwork capabilities and many other valuable skills.
Once students reach the high school level they can also apply to be apart of the National Honor Society (NHS) which recognizes outstanding high school students.
To become a member of Keith Valley NJHS you must be a rising 7th grader going into 8th grade. A certain amount of community service hours are required along with having a 85% average in all your classes.
This is Keith Valley’s 7th year running NJHS. Today it is estimated that more than one million students participate in official Honor Society activities, according to NJHS website.
