Author Julia Cook Visits HHSD

January 27th, 2020

HORSHAM, PA

On January 22nd, Crooked Billet-Hallowell- Learning Community (CB-H-LC) welcomed in Julia Cook, Author and a former teacher and school counselor. She writes books for children that let them laugh while learning to solve their own problems, use better behavior and develop healthy relationships.

Co-Principal Steve Glazie wrote a grant to the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation (HHEF) to bring in Julia Cook to visit all elementary schools in the district. Each school held an assembly where Cook read her stories to second and third graders. At night students and parents could attend another special presentation with Cook along with her dog Kirby.

Cook has published nearly 100 children’s books on a wide range of characters and social development topics. Her books showcase her innate ability to enter the worldview of a child through storybooks, giving children both the “what to say” and the “how to say it.”
