Phanatic About Reading

Reading provides many important benefits to everyone but especially young students. Not only does regular reading help make you smarter, but it can also increase your brainpower. Through hearing and reading stories, children are exposed to new vocabulary words and all-around fun and imagination.

Keith Valley Middle School seven graders wanted to improve their reading skills and decided to become apart of the Phanatic About Reading Program this school year.  The Phanatic About Reading Program is presented by Xfinity through a partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies. The big green guy visited Keith Valley Middle School on February 18th to spread the joy of reading. Keith Valley entered a contest through the Phanatic About Reading program and won! Their prize was a visit from the Phillie Phanatic himself.

Phanatic About Reading was founded in 2004 and encourages students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade to read for a minimum of 15 minutes a day. Keith Valley’s seven graders exceed that objective and worked hard to reach new reading goals.
